A1 For Education:

A1 Technologies specialises in bringing cutting-edge 3D digital technologies into every level of education from primary schools right through to universities.  The company is fully committed to its philosophy of making these technologies accessible to students at the earliest opportunity within school curriculums to encourage understanding and uptake by tomorrow’s engineers. The combination of products available from the company facilitates the learning process and enables pupils — of ANY age — to experience, understand and use the latest 3D technologies that are being adopted in the real world both in industry and in the creative sector.

Whether for creative development or for targeted STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities, the A1 Technologies’ product range can be used across the curriculum to promote and develop key skills. Experience has shown that the use of such technology within the curriculum results in pupils getting significantly higher exam results against the use of hand skills. In addition, pupils that have used 3D digital technologies throughout their school careers attain transferrable, usable skills that will set them apart with employers. Another key benefit of implementing these technologies in the classroom, which should not be underestimated, is that pupils are excited by it. This, in turn, has been shown to increase demand for studying STEM subjects in line with government targets.

Each of the products within the range from A1 Technologies can be procured separately at ultra-low prices. However, the range can also be fully integrated to provide a complete 3D design and make solution — all for the price of one standard CNC machine or laser cutter.

A fact of life, A1 Technologies understands that school budgets are tight, but the company strives to enable schools and universities to maximise their budgets and get pupils interacting with technology that will provide them with great advantages in their future careers.

The fully integrated package comprises four different technologies:

  • 3D laser scanning
  • 3D creative design
  • 3D printing
  • 3D machining (5 axis).

Alternative bundles of products are also available.

3D Technologies for Education

The A1 Technologies product portfolio brings together a range of accessible 3D digital technologies that spans every aspect of designing and making in 3D. From creative 3D design and the capture of 3D digital data, through to prototype generation and production of a final part, there is a low-cost 3D digital technology available from A1 to enable pupils to get hands-on and learn about these advanced technologies for themselves.

Every product within the A1 range ticks the boxes for use within schools & universities:

  • Meet stringent safety requirements.
  • They are easy to learn.
  • They are easy to use.
  • They are designed for pupils to use themselves.
  • They enthuse pupils.
  • They allow pupils to produce creative and sophisticated models.
  • Pupils get better exam results.
  • They will not break the budget.

3D Design

Chameleon is a universal design package for interactive, creative 3D Design. Children as young as three, can begin to design in 3D with Chameleon. The only limitation is their imagination.

3D Printing

The Maxit 3D printer from A1 can be assembled in classrooms offering pupils direct insight into this growing and exciting technology. Subsequently it will print 3D digital designs reliably and consistently.

3D Laser Scanning

The David laserscanner is safe and portable for easy use in school environments. It collects 3D digital data from existing objects and can be imported into Chameleon and the digital models output directly on a 3D printer.

 3D Machining

Studiomill is a completely safe and versatile desktop 5-axis CNC machine that will meet the needs of any educational application. Accessible viewing of the CNC process allows students to fully understand how the process works once the machine is operational.

We found this infographic on the internet about why 3D printing should be used in the classroom.

We liked it and so with the agreement of Online Degrees, we have reproduced it here.
